Experience the unforgettable charm of Pantelleria
living in a old dammuso surrounded by magical stillness

Giardini di Pantelleria (Pantelleria Gardens) is a group of ancient traditional houses called dammusi (sing. dammuso, plur. dammusi) and Arab gardens located on the south-west coast of Pantelleria Island in a isolated and quiet little valley.

When I arrived in Pantelleria more than forty years ago, I was fascinated by the primitive beauty of these houses.

Since then, as an architect I have always dreamed of protecting these ancient stone buildings immersed in uncontaminated nature to make them a pleasant summer residence for me and my friends without giving up any modern comforts.

Whenever possible I have tried to maintain some characteristic features of the original use. Last but not least, I paid particular attention to important issues such as water conservation, environmental health (in the estate we do not use herbicides or pesticides) and light pollution at night.

  • The dammusi take their names from the plants that surround them
