Dammuso Bougainvillea

Bougainvillea is the biggest and the most ancient dammuso: the living room used to be a grinding mill, and the grinding stone can still be seen in the garden; in one of the rooms you can find an original wooden press which was used for wine-making.
It is the dammuso where I normally live when I am in Pantelleria.

It consists of a large bedroom with alcove, a bedroom with two single beds, a large living room with fireplace, a kitchen with dining room connected to the “Arab garden”, a patio and a large panoramic terrace. Water is heated by an electric boiler and flows automatically from the well.

A careful restoration underlines the original architectural structure of the high vaults and thick walls.
